The Saint Nicholas The Wonderworker Charitable Foundation Congratulates Metropolitan Varnava On His 35th Anniversary As Hierarch

Cheboksary, the Chuvash Republic, December 1, 2011

Head of the Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker Charitable Foundation regional department Nikolay Igorevich Goryachkin congratulated December 1, 2011 Metropolitan Varnava of Cheboksary and Chuvashia on his 35th Anniversary as hierarch that had been marked November 30.

The metropolitan was given a bronze bust of the Saviour as an anniversary present.

The present by the Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker Charitable Foundation will remind everyone of the connection between the Saviour and Hierarch Varnava and that he was chosen to be head of the Russian Orthodox Church Eparchy of Cheboksary and Chuvashia by God the Lord.

The bust was made by Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation Sergey Mikhailovich Isakov.

Holy Patriarch Alexy used to keep the 1st copy of the bust in his study. His example was later followed by the other Orthodox patriarchs and hierarchs who had been given the same busts by the Foundation. The bust in the study of Archbishop Ignatius of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (Metropolitan of Khabarovsk and Outer Manchuria) shed holy ointment.

During the friendly talk following the present giving and the anniversary congratulations Hierarch Varnava expressed his wish to install a monument to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker in Chuvashia.

Hierarch Varnava gave his hearty thanks for the present and the congratulations and sincerely wished the Foundation board and staff constant success, peace, prosperity and good health hoping that God’s help would be with them in all their efforts and service for the benefit of the motherland.
