Iconostasis Installation in the newly built Archangel Michael Cathedral

In September of 2011 the Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker Charitable Foundation started works on installation of iconostasis in the Archangel Michael Cathedral which is currently under construction. The project is carried out with the blessing of Bishop Daniil of Arkhangelsk and Kholmogory within programs of the Foundation aimed at helping the Russian Orthodox Church.

A group of the Foundation workers headed by A.G. Okhrimenko, leading expert of the Regional Department, was sent to the cathedral construction site.

Works on making the iconostasis will start right after all the details to be agreed upon. According to the plan the iconostasis is to be made and installed in 2012. Considering the fact that the cathedral is in all respects quite a grand-scale building, the iconostasis should be a match for it: it will be 11 metres long and 3 metres high.

The Foundation charged with the task carvers from Arzamas city who have successfully cooperated with us in lots of similar projects for a long time. Earlier our joint efforts resulted in installation of iconostasis in temples and cloisters of Krasnodar Krai, Kamchatka, the Mari El Republic, Adygea, Kalmykia, Sverdlovsk and Moscow regions.
