Maykop and Adygea Eparchy

With the blessing of the Right Reverend Bishop Tikhon of Maykop and Adygea, the reliquary with a particle of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker’s relics was brought to Maykop and Adygea Eparchy of the Russian Orthodox Church.

This object of orthodox worship was delivered to the Caucasus by workers of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker Charitable Foundation within an All-Russian charity program.

On November, 9, 2011 to the ringing of bells His Eminence Tikhon met the reliquary and ministered a ceremonial service at Holy Trinity Cathedral in Maykop.

Despite bad weather and snowdrifts, days and nights hundreds of believers come to St Nicholas the Wonderworker to feel the aureole of his holiness, to pray to him for their innermost hopes, to receive support of the saint in their deeds.

Each of those who come to see the reliquary receive its photo with a short prayer on the reverse side as a keepsake.

The relics’ particle will be taken to numerous churches and monasteries of the eparchy, then back to Moscow to continue its sacred procession all over the orthodox Russia.
