The monument to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker was put up on the initiative of the Border Services of the Federal Security Service of Russia in Franz Joseph Land, the farthest northern Russian frontier post on the Earth.
The monument was delivered by the
aircraft of the Federal Security Service
of Russia.
The military personnel of the frontier post "Nagurskoe" of the Federal Border Services of the Federal Security Service of Russia and the representatives of the Saint Nicholas The Wonderworker Charitable Foundation participated in the ceremony of consecration of the monument. Tikhon, bishop of Arkhangelsk and Kholmogory headed the ceremony.

Vladimir V.Putin, Prime Minister of Russia, during his visit of the town at the frontier post "Nagurskoe" expressed his approval for the work of the Border Services, which is aimed at shaping a spiritual shield round Russia.
